Our holistic community is located in Trumbull, CT. Each gathering provides time in a child's day to relax, regulate and recharge through a combination of crafts and mindfulness activities: 

increasing "happy" hormones

building confidence and resilience

 improving sleep

nurturing health and happiness

Learning these tools at a young age sets children up with a foundation of emotional wellness!

Q&A

What days/hours are you open? Choose Tuesdays and/or  Thursdays 9:30-12:30

with option to stay til 2:00


What is your background? I have a BA in Psychology with a concentration in child development from Quinnipiac University, a license in massage therapy, certifications in relaxation coaching, pediatric massage, and holistic health coaching. In addition, I have over 4o year of experience working with young children including owning and operation The Children's Corner of Fairield, a nationally accredited early childcare program. 

Is my medical freedom respected? Yes!

Is this a year round program? Yes

Do I need to commit to the year? We understand that things change in your life and you may need to leave the program. We just ask that you give 2 weeks notice.

What is the cost? $50/day

               $70/extended day til 2:00


 

How many children are in the group? The group size varies between 4-6 children.

Do I pay if I miss a day that my child is signed up? Yes, you pay regardless if your child is here or not, during the months of September - June BUT, you are able to make up the day. I am open during July and August, but that is pay as you go. You can choose how many Tuesdays and Thursdays you bring your child during those summer months. 

Do you close during the year? 
We are closed from Christmas Eve through New Year's Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Memorial Day and July 4th. These days are not paid holidays.

My child has never attended a drop off program. 

I work with parents to make it as stress free as possible with a slow and gentle transition.

​​​Calming Craft~Breathing Beads

Children will create, decorate and string their own beads to be used as a visual guide for deep breathing exercises. 

Mindful Moments~Sea Otter Cove

This story teaches children how to use relaxation breathing to calm down, lower stress, and control negative emotions or anger. Children love to experience belly breathing with playful sea otters and a sea child. This effective self-calming technique, also known as diaphragmatic breathing, can have a positive impact on your child's health. Proper breathing can lower stress and anxiety levels. It can be used to decrease pain and anger. Delightful characters and easy breathing encourage your child to slow down and relax.

 


Calming Craft~I Spy Glitter Bottles

Children will create their own sensory bottles that offer several benefits, including emotional regulation, sensory calming, and fine motor skill development. They can be used as a calming tool. The slow movement of glitter and other objects within the bottle can be mesmerizing and help children regulate their emotions.

Mindful Moments~ Angry Octopus

This story teaches children relaxation techniques for controlling anger and negative emotions. It helps kids to calm down and lower stress and anxiety levels by focusing awareness on various muscle groups to create a complete resting of the mind and body. Muscular relaxation can lower anxiety levels.

Calming Crafts~ Affirmation Coloring

Affirmation coloring pages combine the therapeutic effects of coloring with the power of positive affirmations, offering benefits like stress reduction, improved self-esteem, and enhanced mindfulness. By focusing on the present moment while repeating positive messages, these affirmations help build confidence and resilience.  They also provide a creative outlet for emotional expression and can be used to boost self-esteem and foster a positive mindset. 
Mindful Moments~Affirmation Weaver

 This is a story that teaches children how to increase self-confidence and self-esteem. Children relate to the self-doubting dolphin and love reading how the sea creatures show the dolphin how to turn self-doubt into self-belief. Watch your child increase self-esteem and build confidence as the sea creatures weave a web of positive statements. 

Calming Craft~ Rainbow Sun catcher

Children will create a beautiful sun catcher with colorful beads, ribbons and branches.

Mindful Moments~ A Boy and a Turtle
Children love to visualize or imagine filling their bodies with the colors of the rainbow as they listen to this story. This effective research-based, stress management technique also known as guided imagery is widely accepted and used as it stimulates the imagination. Relax with colors!

Calming Crafts~Nature Mandala

 This circular, symmetrical art form created using natural materials like leaves, flowers, stones, and twigs is a way to connect with nature, promoting mindfulness, and engaging in a relaxing, creative activity. 

Mindful Moments~ Bubble Riding

This is a story that teaches children how to use visualizations to relax, lower stress, and fall asleep faster. A sea child and turtle take children on a relaxing bubble ride through the ocean as they learn a fun visualization technique, also known as creative imagery.
This technique can have a positive impact on your child's overall health, creativity, and performance. 


 

Calming Craft~ Spread Happiness with Flowers

Children arrange locally grown flowers in mini bud vases and then spread them around their home and/or share with others. Research shows that flowers make us happy. 

Mindful Moments~ Leira Clara's Flowers

In Leira Clara’s Flowers story, she learns that flower-sharing has the power to heal and to open one’s heart to kindness, sharing, and happiness.

Calming Crafts~ Lavender Wreath

Children will create their own lavender wreaths that offers aesthetic and sensory benefits. Lavender wreaths can create a calming atmosphere and offer a pleasant fragrance.

Mindful Moments~ The Home for Sensitive Butterflies

The Home For Sensitive Butterflies is perfect for  helping the most sensitive of souls to find their place. This book helps children recognize that they are safe to explore the world at large as well as settle into themselves, at home on Earth. 


 

Calming Crafts~Act of Kindness Jar

Children will paint a jar to be used to identify and recognize their acts of kindness. Acts of kindness foster empathy and compassion for others; boosting mood, reducing stress, and fostering a sense of connection and purpose for the child performing the act of kindness. 

Mindful Moments~Heartprints

A heartprint is formed when you do something kind. Your love touches others, leaving heartprints behind.
